A
“Living Machine”, Findhorn
An ecological sewage
treatment plant known as a “Living Machine” at the
Findhorn community near Forres, Scotland. Effluent flows through
a series of tanks - filled successively with vegetation, algae,
bacteria and fish - to produce clean water. The “Living
Machine” concept was developed originally in the US by
John and Nancy Jack Todd of Ocean Arks International.
