Uranium oxide fuel
from overseas nuclear power stations in countries such as Japan
is imported into Britain for reprocessing at Sellafield - hence
its reputation as the "nuclear dustbin of the world".
Oxide fuel (from PWRs and BWRs) is shipped in cylindrical flasks
such as this Excellox model.
