Wave Power The Scottish island of Islay has aspirations to be totally powered by renewable sources of energy. Progress to date includes the Limpet wave-power generating station on the west coast of the island. Air pressure generated by the ebb and flow of Atlantic waves underneath the visible structure operates an electricity generating turbine.
