The transport of materials containing uranium and plutonium - used in both reactor fuel and nuclear weapons - has provided an opportunity for anti-nuclear campaigners to highlight the more secretive aspects of the nuclear industry, especially its military role. Hence this anti-nuclear sign by a Suffolk railway line which draws attention to the links between nuclear power and nuclear weapons - albeit in a highly simplified way! For a detailed examination of such issues I recommend the Earthscan book Nuclear Juggernaut. Unfortunately it's out of print (and needs updating) but is available from all good libraries.
